I feel like a new person since beginning our visits…

I began seeing Zoey almost two years ago after I was told by numerous doctors the only way my Cystic Acne would be cured was to go on birth control and different doses of Oral Medication. I even had one doctor tell me the only way my acne would heal was to take out my Uterus because my Testosterone Levels were too high. Neither of those options worked for me. I was in a terrible space mentally as well as physically and reached out to Zoey to see if she could help. I started seeing her bi-weekly and now I see her monthly. To say that my skin is better would be an understatement. It is as close to perfect as I will ever be!  I do not suffer from the painful Cystic Acne I once did. I have a mini- breakout “that time of the month”, but other than that my face is clear and most importantly NOT PAINFUL. This entire journey has been a process, but Zoey has been there with me cheering me on the entire way. Taking care of skin like mine isn’t easy. I have a very strict regime and it can get confusing. Every question I had/have in between appointments has been answered almost instantaneously. I look forward to every appointment I have with Zoey. It’s a time I use to unwind and learn. Nicole started her acne journey with me in January of 2024. She had been dealing with severe, chronic, hormonal acne after coming off of birth control. First, we scraped her skincare & started her on a full @clearstemskincare home-care routine, this allowed us to remove all pore-cloggers from her routine & get her barrier back to great shape. We also utilized functional testing to see how the detox of birth control from her system was affecting her hormones. Functional testing is the unsung hero of acne management. I utilize it for clients like Nicole, as well as clients who are struggling with gut & digestion vulnerabilites. Acne benders are anything that veers you off course of your acne healing or maintenance journey. They can be travel, vacation, illness, etc. For me this bender was a long weekend where I was outside of my normal eating, sleeping, exercise, & home-care routines. The best thing to do is just allow yourself to let the circumstance play out & enjoy yourself if that’s what the occasion calls for. I find more damage is done from stressing about the bender than the actual bender itself. The goal is that your body & skin are at such a good health balance that when you do have those times, it doesn’t throw you off completely. Get back into your routine when you’re able to. Life is about enjoyment, we can’t be perfect all the time. LINK IN BIO. I can’t wait to see you soon :).

The most consistent feedback I get from new acne clients is struggling with what to eat for breakfast. Eggs, dairy, & wheat are all acne triggers. They’re also the staples of the standard American breakfast. Get comfortable with eating non-breakfast foods for breakfast. Steak & veggies, chicken & rice, a souped up protein shake. When I starting eating a big ole bowl of ground beef for breakfast I noticed longer satiation, clearer skin, & no 2pm slump. Ready to heal so you can look, live, & feel better? LINK IN BIO.
